The Jowat 930.94 is a cleaning and purging agent to be used after running polyurethane PUR hot melt. This purging material comes in 10 ounce cartridges, bulk granules and Holz-Her slugs.
A PUR cleaning agent should always be run after using polyurethane adhesive to insure that material does not cure inside the equipment and cause damage.
PUR hot melt starts to cure as soon as it cools and continues to cool with moisture in the air. It will create a strong, permanent bond. To avoid damage to dispensing equipment, a PUR purge material should be run directly after the adhesive is finished dispensing.
Step 1:
Insure all PUR adhesive has been run and purged from the equipment or gun.
Step 2:
Fill with the correct PUR purging agent (cartridge, bulk or Holz-Her slug) and bring to heat. Run the entire amount of purging material and repeat if necessary.
Step 3:
Insure all PUR cleaning material is out before adding additional adhesive. Any remnants of the cleaning material can stop the PUR adhesive from properly cross-linking and curing. If you have any questions about running a PUR cleaning/purge - contact one of our experts for help.
